Animal Husbandry Davison (Simdega)
The department of Animal husbandry is one of the important part of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry & Co – operative department. This department is responsible for matters relating to livestock production, preservation, disease controlling and cattle breed improvement. The animal Husbandry sector plays a crucial role in the field of rural economy by providing employment to small marginal farmers and agriculture labourers.

Description of schemes/ programme :-
Mukhyamantri Pashudhan Vikash Yojana
The main objective of this scheme is increasing income of farmers through distribution of goatery , piggery, poultry and ducks to beneficiaries on subsidized price. This year a total of 741 beneficiaries have selected and approved under this scheme.
National Artificial insemination programme (2nd phase)
It is a central sponsored scheme. Its main objective is cattle breed improvement of milk producing animals. From august 2020 to july2021 total 6441 animals have artificially inseminated in district.
National Animal Disease Control Programme
It is a central sponsored programme. Under this programme total 44304 animals get F.M.D. vaccination in the year 2020-21.
Special Animal Health Camp
In the year 2020-21 total 94 special camps had been organized in the district. Mainly treatment of animals, distribution of drugs and publicity of department schemes are being done in the camps.
