About Us
Directorate of Economics and Statistics, Jharkhand, has been entrusted the task of Collection, Compilation, Tabulation and Analysis of various types of data. These data are useful for scientific and economic planning. These data are also useful for those who are involved in research works. District Statistical Officers are responsible for flow of these data to DES level. Apart from District Statistical Officers, data from different departments are also collected.

On State Level some selected topics each year data are collected on sample basis.
Census
Economic Census
Sample data are available for organised sector but there is acute scarcity of data for unorganised sector. Economic census data fill these gaps. These data are very useful to know the structure and economy of the society
Industrial Statistics
To know the industrial position of the District, Index of Industrial Production (I I P) is very useful.
Environmental Statistics
(a) Impact on environment due to various economic activities and consumption practices including use of water, goods, transport and other electrical equipments & devices.
(b) Compilation of information on all aspects having impact on environment is essential i.e. economic activities, health and social life of the people in future.
